Terms of Service
These terms govern a merchant’s installation and use of Ctrl COD on Shopify.
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Eligibility and account responsibility
You must be authorized to act for the Shopify store that installs Ctrl COD. You are responsible for your Shopify account, app configuration, customer-facing disclosures and compliance with laws that apply to your store.
The service
Ctrl COD provides configurable COD availability rules, fees, OTP verification, prepaid incentives, order automation, confirmations and reporting. Some capabilities depend on Shopify plan eligibility, checkout extensibility, carrier/payment configuration, regional restrictions and third-party messaging providers.
Merchant obligations
- Configure accurate COD fees, deposit terms, shipping methods and buyer disclosures.
- Obtain any consent required before sending WhatsApp or SMS messages.
- Keep provider credentials secure and use approved message templates where required.
- Test configuration before enabling it for buyers and promptly investigate unexpected order behavior.
Billing
Paid plans are billed through Shopify and shown before approval. Plan limits and current prices appear in the app’s billing page. You may downgrade or cancel through the controls provided in Shopify. Shopify’s billing and refund rules also apply.
Acceptable use
You may not use Ctrl COD unlawfully, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, abuse messaging or OTP systems, transmit malicious content, or use the app to mislead buyers.
Availability and third parties
We work to keep Ctrl COD reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Shopify, payment, shipping, WhatsApp and SMS services are controlled by third parties; their outages, rules and restrictions may affect functionality.
Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Ctrl COD is provided “as is” without implied warranties. CtrlOne is not liable for indirect, special or consequential loss, lost profit, chargebacks or decisions made from merchant configuration. Our aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the fees paid for Ctrl COD during the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Ctrl COD by disabling or uninstalling it. We may suspend access for security threats, non-payment, unlawful use or material breach. Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms prospectively. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. Questions may be sent to support@byctrlone.com.
